Chocolate 🍫

I’m making Paleo brownies. I picked this recipe. I’ve made black bean chocolate brownies before and they were oh so delicious but I don’t have any black beans at the moment so I opted for a different recipe. We are currently in a state of emergency with stay at home lockdown orders. So I decided that making brownies did not constitute an essential reason to travel. Some may disagree.

Ingredients: almond butter, coconut oil, coconut sugar, almond milk, eggs, maple syrup, almond flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, vanilla, sea salt, plus I added walnuts, cinnamon, and instant coffee (to boost the chocolate flavor)

Normally I have some red wine on the weekends but I’m skipping this weekend just to cut back a bit. We have a big snow advisory today so brownies felt like a nice treat on a snowy day.

I don’t have the biggest sweet tooth. But sugar IS addictive so I try to limit sweets to adding sweetener to my coffee. When my daughter was little I made healthier sweet treats like energy balls, avocado chocolate pudding, and Paleo brownies. Since getting away from that she is now hooked on all the sugary things! I need to fix that.
